Gratitude

• Doctor appt. for my son went well. He is healthy and happy.
• The disk I pulled out of child no. 3 PC is fine, actually. This is good cause its a kind of pricey 1TB NVMe.

Yesterday recap

A lot of stops for work. I initially thought it was three, but ended up being four. Since most of them weren’t home I was able to blast through the stops and get them all done early. One of the nice things about this commercial contract, no one is waiting to chat for 20 minutes and interrupt my schedule.

Being done early meant I could work on building insulation bags for my winterization stops next week. I sat in the garage bagging phone book (remember those lol) sized pieces of insulation into trash bags and sealing them up. I think I’m going to be like 5 short for the amount of stops I have next week. Damn.

Son went to the doctor for his annual checkup and I worked at my desk while the two youngest played. I wanted to know if the NVMe I pulled out of a PC was actually bad or if it was just a Windows being shit problem. Checked SMART data, ran a long SMART test, checked with fsck, and badblocks and everything came back good. The drive is fine, actually. I think formatting it fixed it. Windows corrupted some files and then complained the files were corrupted.

I fucking hate Windows.

When the kids went to bed I put on my headphones and listened to my book (A Jack Reacher novel) and played Power Wash Simulator for about an hour. After, the wife and I watched Winnie the Pooh Boo to You Halloween special and went to bed at a decent time.

How are you feeling today?

Content. Not happy, not sad. Just content, everything seems fine.

Chores

• 2 winterizations and then calling it a weeknd.
• Costco trip… On Halloween.

Fun

• We are going to take our two youngest to our oldests house for some trick or treating.
• Watch Garfield’s Halloween with the wife.

Projects

• Install and test scrcpy on the existing install of PostmarketOS on the Microsoft Surface. I don’t want to move forward with this project if using my phone as a crutch won’t work.
