Yesterday recap

After breakfast I scooted up to Tacoma to our wholesale supplier for sprinkler parts to get the last of the stuff I need for our install next week. Round trip was just over two hours, but I can’t get big rolls of tubing shipped at a reasonable price.

When I got home, wife went out to meetup with our oldest to do some holiday shopping together. Our oldest is very busy and hard to get a day to do these kinds of things, so it was a big deal. My wife was stoked and they ended up hanging out for about 4 hours. It sounds like they had a blast and I’m happy they got to spend the afternoon together.

While wife was away I worked on the house chores, writing blog posts, and toying around with this E5440 laptop. I also spent an hour or so replying to people who wrote me about my post on being poor. I have received a lot of great feedback on that post. I have to say, even when we don’t agree, I’ve had great conversations.

And that is the main reason I can’t get away from Mastodon, blogging, and spending a big chuck of time on the internet. I have met so many awesome people, some I consider close friends. If you’re reading this, thank you. If you’ve reached out know I appreciate you.

I was also able to spend some time practicing my magic for our family talent show. I have a couple of coin tricks down and was feeling a little proud of it. So, I then showed both of the tricks to multiple people in the house because I wanted to show what I learned and in doing so, ruined two tricks I can use for my talent show performance.

Dinner and watched WWE Friday Night Smackdown. After the gorls went to bed wife and I played Yahtzee and had a few snacks before vegging out on the couch and calling it a night around midnight.

Gratitude

• Heard from so many people yesterday and had great conversations. The internet can be an awesome place.
• So happy for my wife and fun time with our oldest. I hope they do it again soon.

Better and even kind of happy. Yesterday ended up being a good day.

• Find the rest of the Thanksgiving/Fall decorations.

• Practice more magic.
• Date night with wife.
• Attend my niece’s birthday party.

Projects

• Try to re-org my desk so I can put this E5440 as the main with the docking station. The main issue I need to solve is getting the primary monitor about 3 inches higher.
