Today’s recap
Skipped yesterday because we celebrated Valentine’s Day early. Oh no! I talked about Valentine’s Day and you have to know my wife and I celebrated. The man that has 4 kids, got his wife pregnant 6 times, and gushes over her and her being a thicc Latina celebrates Valentine’s Day!
Sorry.
Honestly, not much to write about yesterday anyway. We are waiting on rock prices and approval from the owner for the pond job and our new install starts Monday. I went up to Tacoma to our supplier and did an early season stocking order, along with whatever we need for our install next week. It was cheaper than I thought it would be, so I extended our truck inventory stock. I was there and back by noon.
Once home, Wife went out to meet-up with our oldest and I was in charge of the house. Which is to say the gorls watched a movie and then went about their own business while I did oddjobs around the house and finished up some chores.
After a lazy afternoon we watched WWE Friday Night Smackdown, had dinner, and then the kids went to bed and we had our Valentine’s Day. We do not go out for these kinds of holidays. Instead, we come up with a dinner menu and have our meal after the kids go to bed. Been doing this for years.
I’ll leave out more details.
Today was an even lazier day. I organized all the new inventory I got on Friday into my bins and set aside the stuff that goes into my partner/brothers truck. I also coordinated with my son for the days he will be working over the next two weeks.
And then I did absolutely nothing for hours.
Watched Lucha Libra AAA wrestling, dinner, and it is a stay-up-as-late-as-you-want night for the gorls.
Projects
I realized it had been too long since I last updated my apt clone. I use aptly to create a full apt mirror. Surprise, surprise. The prepper/data hoarder has a full apt mirror.
I ran into a problem I’m still trying to resolve. I have some packages that didn’t update to the latest version. For example, Firefox in my mirror is still 1.28.x, but the most recent version is 1.40.x. I’m thinking this is a issue with Bookworm to Trixie change. My apt mirror is for Bookworm, so I’m adding backports to the mirror to see if this fixes these packages being behind.
Additionally, I needed to push a bunch of updates to my dotfiles and spent about 20 minutes getting that done. I’ve been making slight changes on my desktop and I need to get those pushed so I can update all my other machines with the changes.
Daily gratitude
- How can it be Valentine’s Day without saying I’m grateful for Wife? I am, for all kinds of reasons.
- For as much of a PITA is it,
aptlyis pretty neat. - I’m happy with my system for all my work inventory. I am basically a mobile storefront. It saves me so much time having a detailed inventory with me all the time. I know it is no fun to hear a contractor say, “I have to order a part.” I rarely say that.
Tomorrow’s big thing(s)
Need to balance the rental property books with my mom.
Loose thoughts
I guess this is what you call “horny on main”.
