Today’s recap
This one is going to be short because I didn’t do anything today.
Slept in a little and then got busy with chores. Since I’m back to work I have more chores for prepping for the week. Topped off pet feeders, did laundry, made overnight oats, charged all devices, and did a once over on the vehicles.
After chores my son and I watched the NASCAR Daytona 500. It is the first time we’ve watched a NASCAR race in years. After the race I wrote a new blog post about offline tech.
Wife was invited by a person she follows to be a recipe tester for a cookbook the person is writing. Wife’s role is to make the recipes and send feedback, which will be used before the recipe book is published. She typically makes these recipes on Sunday’s and I love it. I love that we’ve been getting some new recipes to try, stuff we would never normally have. Wife is a fantastic cook, so I have no complaints about our meals. But, this has been fun because the recipes are so different from what we normally eat. This week was Italian Sausage Soup. Wife had to make some tweaks to be vegetarian friendly. This is the first recipe Wife did not like it. I wish I could see the feedback 😅.
After dinner it was time to finalize some chores, clean up my office, and prep for a quiet evening.
Projects
I wrapped up the aptly update and got the mirror synced to all my various builds. I have a portable internet-in-a-box that is in a pelican case. I’ve written a lot about this build and having an apt mirror is crucial to it since it is not only a full kit, but for extended emergencies.
Daily gratitude
- Today I’m grateful for my brother. He was also watching the race and we texted throughout.
- I’m so happy I have a full sized air compressor. I’ve been filling a tire on the van every 3-4 days while we coordinate having it replaced.
- Had fun watching the race with my son.
Tomorrow’s big thing(s)
Work. We do a kickoff walkthrough for our big project with the homeowner and then start staging everything.
Loose thoughts
Why do people still smoke cigarettes nowadays? When I quit it was about $4/pack. In our area it is now $9/pack. Our new neighbor is definitely a pack a day type person. So, $360/mo. to smoke? Get outta here.
