Today’s recap
Skipped a day since all I did was rest. We ended up with Friday off so I did absolutely nothing. My body was exhausted and I took advantage of a random day off. I did some odds and ends here, lounged on the couch, and then we finished Striking Distance and moved onto Police Academy.
At 2AM I woke up in a full blown panic attack and I thought I was really going to pass out on this one. Aside from all the other shit going on in my life (dad dying, admitting to family I’m poor and need a car loan, intense work schedule) my GERD and allergies flared up. I woke up unable to swallow and it made it feel like I was choking, even though I wasn’t. It was blocking my airway and I had to do everything I can not to stary hyperventilating. By 3:30AM I finally calmed down enough to get some sleep.
Woke up today with intense stomach pain that is still lingering.
Again, a day of mostly nothing. I ran the generator (like I do every quarter), applied a pre-emergent around the yard to prevent weeds, and transferred my seed starts to small pots. Spent a lot of time on the couch and we watched WWE Elimination Chamber. Will finish Police Academy and then probably move onto Police Academy 2, the best of the series.
Projects
First up was to clear up room on the NAS. I was able to clear about 900GB of junk. Well, not junk. I deleted about 400GB of junk and then moved other files to a couple misc. 500GB HDDs I have laying around so I can clear more space. These files are truly cold storage data that I only need to update a couple times a year. Rather than taking up room on the NAS I moved to these old drives. Doing this has me thinking about setting up a second NAS: One for media (TV, movies, books, podcasts, etc) and the other for everything else. Then again, why not just add some more HDDs to the existing NAS? Just brainstorming right now.
Today I ran my backups. I also powered on some machines that have been collecting dust for the last few months, including my MX Linux persistent USB install. On that I have an issue I can’t resolve. When updating flatpaks I get an error invalid cross link device and I don’t have the faintest idea what the problem is. I attempted to troubleshoot for 15 minutes and then started thinking about if I even need this disk anymore. Another we shall see project.
