Today’s recap
Due to truck issues, we were once again off today.
I was up and out early so I can get to my RealID appointment. I prepped everything and booked an appointment, so I was only there for about 15 minutes. Done and done. Maybe this will help if we get ICE sweeps in our area. Wife needs to get hers next.
Left from there and headed to Tacoma for parts to refill our inventory. This was also uneventful. Got there, got my stuff, and they actually had it all. Once home I filled up all my boxes and bins so my inventory is full. I am ready for service/repair season.
The rest of the afternoon I did various random tasks while I waited for the rental property oven to be delivered. I had it delivered here and then will install in two weeks at the property. While I waited I wrote up our seasonal email for existing customers for spring start-up services. We allow customers to book online, so needed to make sure all our calendars were ready and linked correctly. Next, I paid our monthly sales taxes and then looked at our Facebook ads account. I ran an ad in Jan./Feb. for early season discounts and the ad should have ended in mid-Feb. But, I got a small bill from Facebook saying my ad was now complete, two weeks after it was completed and I manually turned it off. I know, people will say I shouldn’t use Facebook and I don’t. We only have a business account that I occasionally run ads for, the business doesn’t even post on the account. I don’t use it personally. But, we can’t argue with the results. For $30 in ads we always get $20k in sales and I’m literally putting in the least amount of effort.
The oven finally showed up after being the most annoying process. I got 12 emails and they called 3 times to give updates on the time and to make sure I was around. Come on, man. You have my address and you are delivering in the window you gave me. Just drop it off. After I got it in the garage I prepped the dog area in the backyard and put down new grass seed to hopefully reduce the mud.
I spent the rest of the afternoon watching a short order cook work the grill at a restaurant on YouTube and writing up notes for Wife’s birthday later this month.
Dinner, bedtime, then Wife and I will catch up on Dark Winds.
Projects
No projects today.
Daily gratitude
- Thankful for the new manager at my supplier. The previous manager is a close personal friend whom I’ve known for 20 years. He left to the competition last year and is now outside of my service area. Nothing against him, he’s a good friend. But, the warehouse I buy from is in better shape with the new manager. So, I’m grateful for both of them. I actually helped train the new manager a long time ago when I worked at this supplier.
- Glad I still had some grass seed around from an install job last year.
- So, so happy my ID appointment was easy.
Tomorrow’s big thing(s)
Actual work. We are moving a lot of sprinkler pipes around at an existing customers house to move them around where his new pool will be installed.
Loose thoughts
Danhausen is taking over our home.
I really hate our front door camera. 98% of the triggers are my fucking neighbors who apparently have to leave the house 700 times a day.
Talking to Wife about 90’s things and we remembered some choice catch phrases like:
- All that and a bag of chips
- Talk to the hand
- What’s up, chicken butt
- Up your butt and around the corner
That list is for anyone who complains about 6-7.
