Tumblr and chasing new users
The social media craze continues. This bubbled up in my feeds today.
Tumblr says it’s going to ‘fix’ its ‘core experience’ to appeal to new users
Every time I read a service, app, platform, company, etc., say they want to appeal to new users I translate it in my head to, “Our existing customers don’t matter.” This is the same for redesigns. I can’t figure out how services/apps/platforms chase new users with total disregard for the people who have been there all along.
I know there’s a possibility it could be good and users will be happy. But, please tell me what you have used that has undergone a redesign or wanted to attract new users and it left the existing users happy?
Please tell me. I want to hear it.
