Gratitude

• Pumpkin carving with the kids was fun. Every year child no. 3 challenges me with something that isn’t easy to transfer to a pumpkin. But, pulled it off again this year.
• Getting the home dir on the Panasonic laptop encrypted with gocryptfs was a short, fun project. I’m happy with the results. I even wrote a blog post about it.

Yesterday recap

We stayed around the house all day doing weekly chores, watching football and wrestling, and carving pumpkins. In general a chill day.

After breakfast I saw there was a dead rat in the backyard. I don’t like to find them, but we live in a rural area and are near a heavily forested area, so we get a rat or two occasionally in the yard. Right after I cleaned it up a hawk landed on the fence and it had what was left of a rat in its talons. It is the closest I’ve ever been to one of these hawks. It took a few bites and then flew off. I think this is why we have found two dead rats in the last month in the yard.

The Lucha Libre AAA event was fun, although short. I love the story they are doing with Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano in AAA. I watched NFL football with my son off and on throughout the day. Short spurts is about all I can handle of the NFL now.

We gave child no. 3 a surprise gift and she was over the moon. She loves Alexa Bliss and we were able to pull off finding a Lilly doll to go with her Halloween costume. She hasn’t set it down since we gave it to her.

Once the kids went to bed we watched half of What We Do in the Shadows. We love this movie, we are just old, so it takes us 2-3 days to finish a movie lol.

How are you feeling today?

Still stressed about money. More bills came in I need to take care of and need to figure out how to stash more away for the winter. Woke up at 4AM thinking about it. Luckily I was able to go back to sleep.

Chores

• House walk around to see if we lost any shingles on the roof after this last storm.
• Balance books and schedule payroll for biz.
• 4 sprinkler winterizations today for work, plus need to load up some parts to hand off to my partner tomorrow.

Fun

• Watch WWE Monday Night Raw with the fam
• Finish watching What We Do in the Shadows with the wife after the kids go to bed.

Projects

• Clean up some storage room on the NAS. I have some old backups that can be removed and I need to go through recent adds to Jellyfin. There’s a bunch of movies I don’t need to keep forever.
• Download Restarters zim and add to Kiwix server.
• Check on Duplicati and my Google Drive storage usage.
